Set Your Goals

Set Your Goals emerged from the Bay Area blending the spirit of acts such as Lifetime, CIV, New Found Glory, the Movielife, and early-period Saves the Day, positioning themselves between pop-punk and hardcore. Their introduction came via a 2005 self-titled EP issued by Straight on Records. The lineup featured vocalists Jordan Brown and Matt Wilson alongside guitarist Dave Yoha, bassist Joe Saucedo, and drummer Michael Ambrose. The same collection was later retitled Reset and reissued in April 2006 through Eulogy, now expanded with an extra song and video content. Three months afterward the group delivered their first full-length, Mutiny!, fusing energetic melodic hardcore with thoughtful, affirmative words and frequent nods to pirates. After guitarist Audelio Flores, Jr. joined to solidify a six-piece configuration, the band embarked on extensive road work, including multiple shows supporting Gorilla Biscuits and Comeback Kid, followed by an autumn run with Less Than Jake, the Loved Ones, and Catch 22. Having parted ways with Eulogy in 2008, Set Your Goals moved to Epitaph in 2009, where they unveiled their sophomore album This Will Be the Death of Us. Further touring ensued alongside Four Year Strong, The Swellers, and You Me at Six, culminating in the 2011 arrival of their third album, Burning at Both Ends.
