Biography
Formed in London, the electronic outfit Medicine Drum brought together Chris Deckker, Andy Guthrie, and DJ Chrisbo. Deckker journeyed to India, Bali, and Africa to explore the rhythms, sounds, and styles of those regions, while Guthrie handled productions and songwriting alongside Children of the Bong and Banco De Gaia. Their first release arrived in 1996 as the Suraya Mela EP, which presented their psychedelic, ethnic-inspired trance. Both the self-titled debut album and the second full-length Siouxpernature appeared in 1997, followed by the third album Talking Stick in 1999 on Higher Octave. Supernature surfaced in early 2001.
