Biography
Having built an earlier commercial profile through his roles in the Housemartins and Beats International, Norman Cook adopted the alias Mighty Dub Katz for a fresh endeavor. As the project's sole founder and producer, he issued the debut single "Magic Carpet Ride" in 1995. The Cangica EP arrived the following year, paving the way for European traction when "It's Just Another Groove" surfaced in 1996. After its rollout first in the UK and Holland and later the United States in 1997, the track gained widespread popularity. Cook added to his output that same year by releasing "Ghetto Girls" together with a new remix of "Magic Carpet Ride."
