Moist

Formed toward the end of 1992 in Vancouver, the alternative rock band Moist delivered its debut show the following January and laid down a self-titled cassette the month after. David Usher on vocals, Mark Makowy on guitar, Kevin Young on keyboards, and Jeff Pearce on bass lacked a permanent drummer until Paul Wilcox joined in time for their appearance at Canada’s Music West Conference in April 1993. Several regional tours secured a deal with EMI April Music (Canada) that October and with Chrysalis (U.S.) in May 1994. Chrysalis then reissued the group’s independently released album Silver the following August. Creature arrived in 1996. After a four-year hiatus, the band issued Mercedes Five and Dime in 2000.
