Mother Falcon

Originating in Austin, Texas, the symphonic rock and orchestral pop ensemble Mother Falcon came together in 2008 under the leadership of Nick Gregg, who founded the group alongside participants from the Red Armada String Quartet during their high school years. Drawing inspiration from classically oriented pop acts such as Sufjan Stevens, Beirut, and the Polyphonic Spree, the collective expanded by incorporating musicians from additional local educational institutions. Upon commencing live performances, the ensemble typically featured between 11 and 20 players each evening, guided by principal vocalists Gregg along with guitarist Claire Puckett and accordionist-pianist Tamir Kalifa. The band rapidly established itself as an essential attraction within the local scene through appearances at prominent festivals and the issuance of several acclaimed recordings, among them Still Life in 2010, Alhambra in 2011, You Knew in 2013, and Good Luck Have Fun in 2015.
