Nadeah Miranda, an Australian chanteuse now based in Paris, draws inspiration from troubadours like Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen, alongside old-school musicals and the eccentric styles of singer/songwriters Björk and Tori Amos. This background has positioned her as a preferred vocalist for French cabaret performances, even as she develops her independent solo work. Her early fascination with music grew after winning a school talent show, prompting her to compose original songs and, at eighteen, journey to Europe in pursuit of recognition. During her time employed at a cafe in Paris, she met guitarist Art Menuteau. Together they formed the LoveGods and moved to Brighton, England, where they backed Nick Cave during his British tour and issued the album Between Dogs and Wolves prior to parting ways. Marc Collin approached her in 2008 for contributions to his cover project Hollywood Mon Amour, which reinterpreted 1980s film soundtracks, and also to join the French collective Nouvelle Vague in place of Camille and Phoebe Killdeer. On the group's 2008 release titled 3, she performed Magazine's "Parade" alongside Barry Adamson. Following her involvement in B for Bang's The Beatles Rewired, she collaborated with Italian composer Nicola Tescari on her personal projects. Her first solo album, Venus Gets Even, came out in 2011 and featured the track "Odile"; she characterizes its style as lyrically twisted, dark cabaret pop.
