In 1975 Nano Cabrera aligned himself with Tony Croatto, Silverio Pérez, Josy La Torre, and Irvin García, shaping the layered vocal textures that became the signature of Haciendo Punto en Otro Son. Earlier stints in rock ensembles had preceded this move, yet the new collective gave him room to explore Cuban and South American musical currents. The resulting album placed Cabrera at the center of group harmonies drawn from Puerto Rican poets such as Juan Antonio Corretjer and Luis Llorens Torres, yielding the well-known tracks “Verde Luz,” “La Vida Compesino,” “Ensillando Mi Caballo,” “Mujer De 26 Anos,” and “En Vida Todo Es Ir.” Once the ensemble finished its second recording, Oubao Moin, both Cabrera and Croatto stepped away.
