Biography
The electronic musician and multimedia artist Orson Hentschel, based in Düsseldorf, crafts intense cinematic works shaped by minimalist composers and the electronic sounds of the 1990s. Stiff repetitions of looped, glitchy samples form the core of his suspenseful, epic constructions, which gain extra drive from drummer Lukas Baumgart. Although Hentschel received classical training on piano, he also immersed himself in trip-hop and electronic pop during his youth. In the early 2010s he issued several techno tracks and scored the short film In a Mirror, which he also directed. His first full-length release, Feed the Tape, came out via Denovali Records in 2016. The denser and more melodic Electric Stutter followed the next year, while the early-2018 EP Facades introduced his initial vocal-based pieces.
