Biography
Mexican trio Pandora launched its recording career in 1985 through a self-titled debut album that quickly scaled the charts across Latin America thanks to the track “¿Cómo Te Va Mi Amor?,” which earned Gold certification before the year ended. Following the 1986 appearance of Pandora Otra Vez, Fernanda Meade, Isabel Lascurain, and Mayte Lascurain took the stage in the United States for a tribute to Plácido Domingo at Los Angeles’ Universal Amphitheater and subsequently relocated to Europe, where they produced Huellas the next year. Liliana Aboroa entered the lineup in May 1989 in place of Fernanda Meade, who had chosen to pursue solo work, yet Meade rejoined the group in 1997 after completing two individual projects. During an extensive American tour supporting the traditional Mexican music collection Hace Tres Noches Apenas, the ensemble’s May 8, 1998, concert at Mexico City’s Metropolitan Theater was captured and later issued as the album Pandora 1985/1998.
