Biography
Parlovr, a trio self-styled as purveyors of "Sloppy Pop" and pronounced "parlor," came together in Montreal, Quebec in 2005 through the combined efforts of Louis Jackson, Alex Cooper, and Jeremy MacCuish. Armed with a battered set of drums, keyboards, and guitars, the group delivers intentional blocks of experimental rock shaped by the Pixies, Guided by Voices, and the Talking Heads, while also channeling the anthem-heavy, collective-driven indie approach that has propelled other Canadian outfits such as Plants and Animals, Arcade Fire, and Handsome Furs. In 2008 the band put out its first album, a self-released effort that bore the same name as the trio.
