Hey Rosetta!

Hey Rosetta! came together as an explosive indie rock sextet in St. John's, Newfoundland during 2005, built around the skills of Tim Baker handling vocals, piano, and guitar, alongside Adam Hogan on guitar, Josh Ward on bass, Phil Maloney on drums, Kinley Dowling on violin, and Romesh Thavanathan on cello. The group produces emotionally resonant rock anthems that recall Brit-pop groups such as Hope of the States and the Veils, while also drawing from the orchestral rock sound of Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene. Their initial self-titled EP appeared in 2005, with the full-length album Plan Your Escape arriving the next year in 2006; both efforts garnered favorable reviews and sales success within Canada. The 2008 release Into Your Lungs (And Around in Your Heart and on Through Your Blood) was helmed by the acclaimed Canadian singer/songwriter Hawksley Workman. Seeds came after in 2011.
