The Zolas

Hailing from Canada, the Zolas deliver melodic sounds shaped by '80s post-punk and '90s-style alt-rock, revolving around singer and guitarist Zachary Gray. The outfit took shape in Vancouver during 2009, starting out as a partnership between Gray and keyboardist Tom Dobrzanski, his former Lotus Child bandmate. Their initial album, Tic Toc Tic, appeared that same year under the production of Howard Redekopp, whose credits include the New Pornographers, Fancey, and Tegan and Sara. Ancient Mars followed three years afterward and spotlighted the track "Knot in My Heart." Around 2015 the group completed its roster by recruiting bassist Dwight Abel and drummer Cody Hiles. Their third studio album, Swooner, surfaced the next year.
