Biography
Petite Amie emerged in Mexico City as an exploratory side endeavor launched by Carlos Medina of the tropical pop outfit Little Jesus. The five-piece Latin dream pop group, noted for its eclectic psychedelic leanings, unveiled its self-titled debut via Park the Van Records toward the close of 2021.
Medina, who handles guitar duties, assembled the lineup alongside fellow guitarist Jacobo Velazquez, bassist Santiago Fernández, and vocalists Aline Terrein and Isabel Dosal. Drawing from a broad palette that spans Pink Floyd, Big Thief, the Beatles, and Magic Potion, the musicians crafted a style blending luminous, artful indie pop with ethereal layers and expansive, psych-infused compositions. The appealing vocal interplay between Terrein and Dosal stood at the forefront as the band rolled out multiple singles across 2020, paving the way for the full-length effort that American indie Park the Van issued in October 2021.
