Biography
The experimental collective Pfarmers originated when its members connected during various tours and festival performances. Serving as a side endeavor, it brought together vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Danny Seim from the post-rock outfit Menomena, percussionist Bryan Devendorf of the globally successful indie group the National, and Dave Nelson on trombone, whose past work includes associations with Sufjan Stevens, Beirut, David Byrne & St. Vincent, among others. Inspired by Seim's vision of plant reincarnation in a dream, the group put out their first full-length record, Gunnera, via Jurassic Pop during 2015's spring season.
