Biography
Since the 1980s Phideaux Xavier has maintained a presence on New York stages, initially as frontman of the punk-pop outfit Sally, Dick, & Jane. In early 1990 the SunMachine emerged as a sextet built around guitar, bass, percussion, flute, violin, and cello, supported by three additional strong singers whose work complemented Xavier’s own boyish exuberance and soulful intensity to form one irresistible package.
