Biography
Pierce Edens, the singer and songwriter from Asheville, North Carolina, first surfaced at the start of the 2000s while shaping a roots-oriented Americana style drawn from the mountain folk sounds of his youth. As a teenager he developed a strong fixation on punk and grunge, ultimately forging an intense hybrid that fused those raw, gritty textures with the acoustic traditions he had known since childhood. He issued his Four Songs EP on his own in 2004 and soon began performing in the surrounding region. Two full-length albums followed: Party Dress in 2006 and Long Days Above Ground in 2009. Touring then became a greater priority, and he completed several national routes. Fan contributions collected through the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter supported his next effort, yielding the self-titled album of 2012, his most refined recording to that point.
