Biography
Pot-Pourri, a vocal quartet accompanied by piano, has carried its performances far from Australian soil through 40 international tours that have reached Italy and the United States. The ensemble delivers high-energy programs that range from operatic arias to familiar pop repertoire, and it regularly adapts those programs to match particular audiences or settings by creating specialized sets devoted to cabaret or Broadway material, children’s concerts, and even collaborations that place the singers alongside circus acrobats. Established in 1987, the group celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2012 while retaining two founding members, soprano Tania de Jong and baritone Jonathan Morton. Marking the occasion with its seventh album, Silver, the ensemble included material drawn from Édith Piaf, Sting, Tom Lehrer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Chopin, Puccini, and additional sources.
