Powersolo

From the start, Danish retro-rockers Powersolo have followed the vision of guitarist and songwriter Kim "Kix" Jeppesen, whose deep passion for classic rockabilly and rock & roll has shaped the group’s entire trajectory. In 1996 Jeppesen launched the project in Aarhus, Jutland, laying down basic rock & roll tracks with rudimentary gear under the Powersolo name. Late in the decade his younger brother Bo Jeppesen, known as Atomic Child, joined on drums, and the pair began playing clubs and festivals across Europe and America, where their high-energy mix of rock & roll, psychobilly, blues, and cowpunk alternately energized and unsettled listeners. Ahead of the first album, Atomic Child moved to lead guitar while Jens "Chief Benz" Søndergaard came aboard as drummer. The resulting 2002 set Lemon Half Moon, the 2004 release It’s Raceday ...And Your Pussy Is Gut!!!, and 2006’s Egg delivered the trio’s wild rockabilly punk with equal parts humor, vulgarity, and irreverence. In 2008 the band scored the Danish crime drama Himmerland, then returned the following year with the studio album Bloodskinbones. Their fifth long-player, the jittery and explosive Buzz Human, appeared in 2011, and the similarly charged Real Sound followed in 2014.
