Public Announcement, the onetime backing ensemble for R. Kelly from Chicago, entered the solo sphere in 1998 with All Work, No Play and landed a Top Ten hit via the single "Body Bumpin' Yippie-Yi-Yo." While Kelly advanced to contemporary R&B stardom, the group lingered in semi-retirement until late 2000, at which point they unveiled their sophomore album Don't Hold Back. Their third album, When the Smoke Clears, surfaced in 2005 on the Boss Entertainment label.
