Biography
Chicago-formed electronic trio Purelink crafts aqueous ambient dub textures, at times shifting into rapid drum'n'bass patterns. Early efforts such as the 2021 release Bliss / Swivel stirred interest within underground dance circles, while their 2023 album Signs drew wider attention.
Purelink came together in 2020 with Tommy Paslaski (Concave Reflection), Ben Paulson (Kindtree), and Akeem Asani (Millia). The members regularly gather to exchange ideas and pursue sonic paths they would not reach separately, yielding the self-released digital single Bliss / Swivel in 2021. Underground listeners responded swiftly, prompting two further 2022 releases: Puredub on Lillerne Tape Club and Purelink on UwU dust bath. Naff then issued To / Deep, transferring the two tracks from Bliss / Swivel to vinyl and adding two new pieces. Peak Oil presented the lush, delicate full-length Signs in 2023.
