Biography
Arthur Baker associate John Robie played a role in shaping Quadrant Six's "Body Mechanic," much as he had with Soul Sonic Force's "Planet Rock," Planet Patrol's "Play at Your Own Risk," C-Bank's "One More Shot," and Jonzun Crew's "Space Is the Place"; the less-known E. Innocenti shares writing credits on the record. Quadrant Six issued only that single 12", which Atlantic put out in 1982; it climbed to number 25 on the clubplay chart and later ranked among the more familiar electro singles. Since its appearance, "Body Mechanic" has turned up on multiple retrospective anthologies, among them the fourth volume of Tommy Boy's 1995 Perfect Beats series.
