Rehasher

Around 2002, Rehasher took shape in Gainesville, Florida, delivering rapid, tuneful punk propelled by electric guitars. The project began chiefly as an organized pretext for its participants to gather, consume alcohol, and perform together. Roger Manganelli, bassist for Less Than Jake, handled guitar and lead vocals jointly with Ryan Geis—preferably addressed simply as Geis—while Jake Crown played drums and Gui Amador played bass. Beyond Less Than Jake, the musicians had already accumulated extensive experience in Army of Ponch, Bullets to Broadway, and Savage Brewtality. Absent any fixed deadline and with no plan to treat Rehasher as a full-time endeavor, they composed and tracked material at an unhurried pace between their other obligations. The resulting album, Off Key Melodies, surfaced in fall 2004 on the local label No Idea Records.
