An experimental indie jazz collective based in Chicago, Resavoir operates under the direction of trumpeter Will Miller, who first drew notice through the self-titled debut released in 2019.

The group originated in 2018 when Miller, a trumpeter, producer, and arranger who earned his degree from the Oberlin Conservatory, launched a home-recording endeavor. Before assembling Resavoir, the jazz-trained musician had already assembled a wide-ranging list of credits that included steady participation in the indie rock band Whitney plus appearances alongside Twin Peaks, Eryn Allen Kane, Via Rosa, and additional acts. His résumé also extends deep into hip-hop, encompassing sessions with Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky, ProbCause, A Billion Young, Rockie Fresh, Saba, and others. Inspired by psychedelic soul together with post-rock and avant-garde jazz, Miller began creating musical sketches captured at home, then invited fellow Chicago musicians—including harpist Brandee Younger and saxophonist Sen Morimoto—to reshape the material through further overdubs and rearrangements. The completed album Resavoir appeared on the International Anthem label in 2019.
