Biography

Having previously been affiliated with Motown Records and served as a vocalist for Soul II Soul during the early 1990s, Richie Stephens redirected his artistic focus to reggae, ska, and contemporary gospel after regaining his independence. Devoting the bulk of his time from the latter half of the 1990s onward into the subsequent decade to this fresh stylistic path, he issued the 2002 album The Man Upstairs, marking the emergence of a singular new presence in Christian music.
