Biography

Riku Pentti, the Finnish drum'n'bass artist and DJ also known as Infekto, has recorded and performed under the alias Rico Tubbs since the mid-nineties. Though the name echoes the Miami Vice character originated by Philip Michael Thomas, the resemblance is clearly intended in mood rather than fact. Active across electronic, dance, and hip-hop circles in his native country from 1994 onward, Tubbs is recognized for his advanced scratching technique. He co-founded the breakbeat label Pyssy and serves as one member of the hip-hop duo Skillsters. Among the earliest figures in Finnish hip-hop, he has also worked as a producer for leading artists from Finland and abroad.
