Biography
Since the 1980s Robert Scott has remained a fixture of New Zealand’s alternative rock community, where his work as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist has encompassed bass, guitar, and songwriting contributions for the jangle-pop stalwarts the Clean and, subsequently, the Bats. During the 1990s he fronted the folk-pop group Magick Heads while also supplying original music and cover artwork to numerous other local outfits. His first solo effort, the largely instrumental The Creeping Unknown, appeared on the Flying Nun label in 2001; ten years afterward came the more pop-focused Ends Run Together (2011). A third collection, The Green House, followed in 2014 and offered another set of shambling, understated indie-rock songs.
