Biography
Royworld came together in London, England, during 2006, with Rod Futrille handling vocals, Rob Parkin on guitar, Tim Miles on keyboards, and Gerry Morgan on drums. Rod and his brother Crispin Futrille, who also wrote material for the group, guided the project, while the remaining musicians joined after replying to an advertisement for players. The quartet soon left behind their Harrogate school base to appear at historic venues such as the Hope and Anchor. Their persistence led Fierce Panda to notice them in 2007, prompting the independent label to offer a single-release agreement. That label put out the band’s first single, “Elasticity,” toward the end of 2007. At the same time Royworld finalized an extended contract with Virgin and readied themselves to record a full-length debut for the major imprint.
