Shabazz The Disciple

David Collins, known professionally as Shabazz the Disciple and an early Wu-Tang Clan affiliate, waited until 2003 before issuing his solo debut, The Book of Shabazz (Hidden Scrollz). Earlier he delivered key guest appearances on Gravediggaz's 1994 debut 6 Feet Deep, a project overseen by RZA and Prince Paul, and issued several singles, among them the provocative and intelligent "Death Be the Penalty" on Tommy Boy. A deal with GZA Entertainment had positioned an album for 1998, yet the label folded and ties with RZA grew strained, leading Shabazz and longtime associate Killah Priest—another Killa Bee—to form Sunz of Man; he exited before the crew's official full-length, The Last Shall Be First, appeared in 1998. The Book of Shabazz eventually landed on Battle Axe Records, after which Shabazz rejoined Sunz of Man for further work and contributed tracks with Killah Priest while continuing to release solo material.
