In the sphere of contemporary Christian music, Sheri Easter first achieved recognition as one member of the duo Jeff & Sheri Easter. Between 1991 and 1997 that act placed more than fifteen singles inside the Top 20 on the CCM charts while collecting eight Dove nominations and a Grammy nomination. She stepped into a solo career toward the close of 1997 by issuing her debut album, Sheri.
