Four years after coming together in Toronto, Sherriff secured a contract with Capitol Records in 1983. The outfit issued just a solitary self-titled LP that year, yet the track "When I'm with You" climbed to number one six years following its initial release. Vocalist Freddy Curci, guitarist Steve De Marchi, bassist Wolf Hassel, drummer Rob Elliott, and keyboard player Arnold Lanni faced calls to reunite, but turned them down once Lanni and Hassel had launched Frozen Ghost and Curci and De Marchi had assembled Alias.
