Shok Paris

Originating from Ohio State in the USA, Shok Paris came together in 1982 around a founding trio of drummer Bill Sabo and guitarists Eric Manderwald and Ken Erb. Vocalist Vic Hix and bassist Kel Bershire rounded out the roster, enabling the band’s initial release with the track ‘Go Down Fighting’ on the Cleveland Metal compilation. That appearance secured a deal with Auburn Records, prompting the swift completion of Go For The Throat in under two days. Their material, built on high-energy and aggressive compositions, echoed the approach of Riot, Kiss, and Accept. Jan Roll replaced the original drummer for Steel And Starlight, yet the follow-up amounted to little more than the same approach retitled and performed with reduced conviction.
