Sian Evans

During the first decade of the millennium, Sian Evans, a Welsh singer and songwriter, gained recognition through her role in Kosheen, the drum’n’bass/trip-hop ensemble whose pair of albums reached the upper tier of the U.K. album chart. Entering the following decade while still affiliated with the group, she began to stand out through guest vocal appearances. Although prior recordings existed before Kosheen, standout contributions arrived on Martin Eyerer’s subdued “Your Move,” credited to Sian Kosheen, and on DJ Fresh’s anthemic “Louder.” The latter, issued in July 2011, swiftly ascended to number one on the U.K. dance, indie, and pop charts. In August, Roger Shah issued Openminded!?, an album that included Evans on several tracks.
