Biography
Emerging during 2014, Smith & Myers formed as an acoustic endeavor featuring Shinedown frontman Brent Smith together with guitarist Zach Myers. The pair blended acoustic covers alongside original material when they launched their first album, Volume 1, during 2020.
An Atlantic Records marketing representative for the Florida group proposed an online fan contest to choose acoustic cover songs, which sparked the project. Overwhelming submissions arrived, prompting the selection of six tracks initially and four additional ones planned for later release. YouTube performance clips accompanied each selection when the (Acoustic Sessions) EP appeared in early 2014 credited to Smith & Myers, including the Clash's "London Calling," Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters," and Soul Asylum's "Runaway Train." The duo resurfaced in 2020 for their debut full-length album, Volume 1. The ten-track collection spotlighted the original single "Not Mad Enough" while also interpreting pop standards such as "Unchained Melody" (Righteous Brothers) and "Never Tear Us Apart" (INXS).
