Son of Sam

Davey Havok from A.F.I. spearheaded the supergroup Son of Sam, whose lineup also featured guitarist Todd Youth, previously of Danzig, D Generation, and Murphy's Law, plus drummers London May of Samhain and Tiger Army and Steve Zing of Samhain. The participants' histories shaped a sound that blended punk with metal while carrying distinct goth inflections. Glenn Danzig joined forces with his then-current rhythm section—bassist Howie Pyro, another D Generation alumnus, and drummer Joey Castillo—on the group's debut, 2001's Songs of the Earth.
