Biography
Formed from veterans spanning Judas Priest, Testament, Savatage, and Fates Warning, the heavy metal supergroup Spirits of Fire issued their self-titled debut album in 2019, delivering a collection of classic power and thrash metal through Frontiers Records.
The lineup—singer Tim "Ripper" Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth), guitarist Chris Caffery (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), bassist Steve Di Giorgio (Testament, Death), and drummer Mark Zonder (Fates Warning)—was assembled in 2017 by Los Angeles-based producer Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson, Tribe of Gypsies). Italian metal specialists Frontiers Music Srl first conceived the project and issued the band’s inaugural single, “Light Speed Marching,” in November 2018, with the full-length eponymous release following three months afterward.
