Spliff

In 1979 the disgruntled male members of the Nina Hagen Band launched the German new wave group Spliff. They pointed to “bossiness” as the reason for their exit and went on to issue four albums across the next five years—Spliff Radio Show, 85555, Herzlichen Glückwunsch, and Schwarz auf Weis—while landing a major regional success with the track “Carbonara.” The musicians dissolved the band in 1984 to concentrate on solo work.
