Suckers

In Brooklyn, NY, Suckers assembled around Quinn Walker, Austin Fisher, Pan, and Brian Aiken, who fused tribal indie rock with chamber-pop accents and an eclectic approach recalling Bowie. Quinn Walker had already earned underground notice in 2008 after signing to CocoRosie's label and releasing a double album, yet the band pursued a distinct sonic direction that expanded Walker's palette through the multi-instrumental work of Pan and Fisher. Drummer Brian Aiken completed the lineup upon returning from a yearlong stay in Hungary, after which Suckers shared New York bills with Yeasayer, MGMT, and Chairlift. Early 2009 brought the self-titled EP, which presented the group's avant-garde spin on pop.
