Tanger

Originating from Colorado, Tanger formed as practitioners of noisy punk after the manner of Steve Albini. Guitarist and vocalist Jason Chinnock and bassist Jason Cope launched the group in 1995 and cycled through multiple drummers before locking in Jon Linn late in 1998. Their abrasive indie punk approach, filtered through math rock structures, drew the interest of Owned and Operated Records, which issued the band’s first self-titled full-length in 2000.
