Drawing from ambient electronica, dance, post-rock, and world music as core inspirations, the French-American duo Berg Sans Nipple unites Paris native Lori Sean Berg with Nebraskan Shane Aspegren. Their first release arrived in 2002 as a soundtrack EP for the short film Marie-Madeleine, after which the pair began shaping material for a debut full-length. That effort, Form Of…, surfaced in 2003 and was followed by two EPs the next year. Early in 2007 the duo joined Team Love Records and issued their second album, Along the Quai, marking their introduction to North American listeners. Aspegren contributed a guest spot to Cassadaga, the seventh studio album from label founder Conor Oberst. Several unused tracks from the Quai sessions were revived for the 2008 EP De la Mort Ou de l'Amour, while 2011’s Build with Erosion shifted the group’s focus from earlier instrumental work toward songs built around vocals.
