Biography
From the Swedish town of Skelleftea, the five-piece pop band the Drowners features lead singer and pianist Magnus Vikstrom along with guitarists Leif Rehnstrom and Mikael Sundqvist, bassist Jonas Bergquist, and drummer Andreas Persson. Drawing influence from power pop acts ranging across the Rasperries, the Posies, and Weezer, they put out a pair of Swedish albums titled Destroyer and World Record Player prior to attracting notice from Wind-Up Records, the label behind the mid-2000 issuance of Is There Something on Your Mind?
