The Horrible Crowes

In early 2011, during a brief hiatus from the Gaslight Anthem, frontman Brian Fallon collaborated with guitar tech Ian Perkins to launch the Horrible Crowes, an Americana side project whose name derives from the “Twa Corbies” folk ballad. Drawing from the work of Tom Waits, Nick Cave, and Mark Lanegan, the duo crafted smoldering, minimalist material that diverged from the Gaslight Anthem’s punked-up anthems through its slower tempos and atmospheric restraint. The summer of 2011 brought “Behold the Hurricane," the first track to reveal their sound, with the Elsie LP arriving that September.
