Biography
In 1998 Denmark natives Sune Wagner on guitar and Yebo on drums assembled the Tremolo Beer Gut, outfitted with Hawaiian shirts and vintage surf rock. Per Sunding on bass and Jengo on guitar soon completed the quartet, whose instrumental eccentricity featured whitecap renditions of Kraftwerk and Sonic Youth ahead of the 1999 debut single “While Squaresville Is Watching from Afar….” That same year brought “The Crunchiest of Frogs” and the group’s first album, The Inebriated Sounds of the Tremolo Beer Gut. Wagner’s later success alongside the Raveonettes prompted his exit, after which the band’s producer, the Great Nalna (aka Ulrik Petersen), stepped in as his replacement.
