The Wayfarers

In the mid-'80s an accomplished New York ensemble found itself overlooked amid the independent-music clamor. Their distinctive approach fused alternative guitar rock with breezy European chanteuse pop and sweeping cinematic textures built around trumpet, flugelhorn, and a wide array of additional brass and wind instruments, a mix that fell outside contemporary fashion. The group's lone release, World's Fare, appeared solely in Europe.
