Biography
Formed in Baltimore, Maryland, the noise pop quartet Thrushes drew their heavily reverbed sonic approach from the Jesus and Mary Chain and the Swirlies. Vocalist/guitarist Anna Conner, guitarist/vocalist Casey Harvey, bassist Rachel Tracy, and drummer Matt Davis assembled the lineup after Harvey and Tracy, both veterans of the city’s mid-’90s scene, first teamed up in summer 2005 and later added Conner and Davis. Their debut effort, Sun Come Undone, appeared in March 2007, followed three years later by the similarly plaintive, echo-minded Night Falls. With Scott Tiemann taking over on drums, the band resurfaced in 2015 via the J. Robbins-produced Exposing Seas on New Granada Records.
