Biography
Originating in central Italy, the band Tiger! Shit! Tiger! Tiger! formed in 2006 around vocalist/guitarist Diego Maciotti, bassist Giovanna Vedovati, and her brother Nicola on drums. The three began forging an angular mix of new wave and post-punk under their adopted monikers Tiger D, Tiger G, and Tiger N. They soon logged shows across the Italian peninsula while preparing demos that became their debut album, Be Yr Own Shit, issued in 2008 on the independent To Lose La Track Records. Despite uneven distribution, the record drew mostly favorable notices from listeners, prompting comparisons to the Cure and Gang of Four as well as the Rapture and Franz Ferdinand, alongside echoes of the Kill Rock Stars roster.
