Timaya

Nigerian pop singer Timaya entered the world as Inetimi Alfred Odon in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, during 1980. Growing up as one of many siblings in an expansive household, he soon cultivated an intense devotion to music and gravitated toward assorted hip-hop endeavors instead of academic focus. Multiple years of joint projects preceded the arrival of his debut solo single, "Dem Mama," in 2005. The track achieved hit status, drawing regional notice and generating demand for further original solo material from Timaya. His first solo album, True Story, appeared in 2007, followed the next year by Gift and Grace. Continued expansion of his profile coincided with frequent guest spots and partnerships, prompting a near-annual schedule of fresh releases that included De Rebirth in 2010, LLNP Long Life N Prosperity in 2011, Upgrade in 2012, and Ephipany in 2014.
