Tom The Lion

London-based enigma Tom the Lion, a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, shapes D.I.Y. indie pop that is cinematic, soulful, and quietly majestic, echoing the approach of Villagers, Sufjan Stevens, and Beirut while deploying a rich falsetto frequently compared to those of Thom Yorke, Chris Martin, and Jeff Buckley. In 2011 he issued his debut album—actually two EPs titled The Adventures of Tom the Lion—packaged in tailor-made wooden cigar boxes through Hoop Records, then delivered his major-label debut Sleep in 2014; both recordings identify only TTL as performer.
