Tommee Profitt has built a reputation as a producer and composer drawn to expansive, orchestral soundscapes layered with synthesizers and shaped expressly for visual media. From the first installment in 2017 onward, he issued multiple volumes under the Cinematic Songs heading that accumulated tens of millions of streams on cuts such as “Only One King” and his 2018 interpretation of Linkin Park’s “In the End.” The 2020 release The Birth of a King contained seventeen holiday standards reimagined, and his arrangement of “O Holy Night” with Tauren Wells and SVRCINA climbed into the Top 40 of Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs. He paired again with SVRCINA for the 2021 single “There for You” and returned to longtime associate Fleurie for a warmly received 2022 cover of Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars.” By the time the star-laden The Birth of a King: Live in Concert arrived in 2023, complete with full orchestra and choir, his “In the End” had already surpassed twenty billion plays worldwide. He later joined forces once more with earlier collaborator Sam Tinnesz on the 2025 concept album THE FALL. In addition to film and television placements, his work has surfaced in video games, live sports broadcasts, movie trailers, and numerous other settings.

A self-taught pianist who started making music at twelve, the Grand Rapids, Michigan native Thomas James Profitt briefly pursued a path as a contemporary Christian performer before issuing cinematic treatments of “Carol of the Bells” and a movement from Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata in the mid-2010s. His track “Hurts Like Hell” featuring Fleurie aired during a 2015 episode of Scream: The TV Series. Shortly afterward his recordings turned up on series such as Bones on Fox and Reign on the CW. In January 2017 he unveiled Cinematic Songs, Vol. 1, which included several vocalists alongside Fleurie as well as a few instrumental pieces. She reappeared on Vol. 2, released three months later, and soon became one of his most consistent partners. That same year Profitt also handled production for Christian rapper NF’s Top 20 single “Let You Down.”

Operating from his studio in Franklin, Tennessee, near Nashville, Profitt delivered three further Cinematic Songs volumes in 2018, beginning with Vol. 3 in February. The following month he issued a cover of Linkin Park’s “In the End” that featured Fleurie and rapper Jung Youth. Vol. 4 arrived in July 2018 and showcased guests including Colton Dixon, Sarah Reeves, Whissell, and Fleurie, with Vol. 5 following that November. An appearance on the CW series Legacies late in the year, a popular early-2019 remix by Mellen Gi, and widespread social-media attention propelled “In the End” past the hundred-million-stream mark.

Fleurie contributed to more than half the tracks on the April 2019 album Gloria Regali, after which Cinematic Songs, Vol. 6 appeared in August. Covers, Vol. 1 followed the next May, and in October 2020 he released the Christmas project The Birth of a King, which reached the Top 30 on Billboard’s Top Holiday Albums and Top Christian Albums charts. His music also appeared that year in the films The Binge on Hulu and Secret Society of Second-Born Royals on Disney+. Another collaboration with SVRCINA, “There for You,” featured on her 2020 album Elysian Fields before surfacing as a single in September 2021. In the interim he put out Cinematic Songs, Vol. 7 and, in November, the seasonal track “Noel (He Is Born)” with Stanaj.

Profitt opened 2022 with The Remixes, Vol. 1, the first of several remix EPs, and Vol. 5 arrived within a month. The four-song The Creed Collection with Nicole Serrano surfaced in April, followed in July by Wedding Songs, a set of covers that again included Fleurie. By the September release of Cinematic Songs, Vol. 8, the 2023 single “Enemy” with Beacon Light and Sam Tinnesz had already drawn tens of millions of streams. At that point his version of “In the End” had tallied twenty billion views or streams across platforms, leading to a five-year-anniversary remix EP. In November 2023 he issued the seventy-five-minute The Birth of a King: Live in Concert, documenting a star-studded Nashville holiday performance backed by a sixty-piece orchestra and the hundred-person Choir Room, with guest vocalists including Tauren Wells, Crowder, Danny Gokey, and Fleurie.

During 2024 Profitt released Covers, Vol. 2 along with a tenth-anniversary edition of “Carol of the Bells” and continued securing sync placements. He also reunited with Tinnesz on a darkly atmospheric concept album that included contributions from Billy Ray Cyrus and Shaya Zamora, among others; THE FALL appeared in April 2025.
