Biography
Emerging early as a young talent, Tracie Spencer drew notice by claiming victory on the television competition Star Search and landing a successful single before she turned twelve. Born in Iowa, the vocalist brought a blend of youthful energy and budding soul depth to her self-titled 1990 debut, most clearly on tracks such as "Tender Kisses" and "This House." Among the few artists able to stage a return while still in her twenties, she reemerged in 1999 with Tracie, which she called her "coming of age record."
