Biography
Having previously performed with George Clinton's Brides of Funkenstein, vocalist Val Young also supplied backing vocals for the Gap Band and Roy Ayers. Her transition to solo work occurred after she met Rick James, who arranged her Motown contract. The two then collaborated on the 1985 LP Seduction, which delivered Young one Top 20 R&B single and one Top 30 R&B single, although further progress proved elusive.
